NY Daily News points you to historical photos of the place you're standing
By following the Daily News on foursquare, you’ll get a notification on your phone whenever you check in near one of the spots where they’ve left a tip. Clicking the link takes you to the specific portion of the archive that covers the place you’re standing.
As a photographer and a history buff, this set of tips has me very excited. I’d love to see more news organizations around the country branch out from restaurant reviews and post location-specific historical information from their archives.

Researchers Warn of Geotagging Dangers - Are You Concerned?
the researchers wrote a simple script that automatically recognized when videos were recorded a certain distance away from a primary location, that being the potential victims' home addresses. When the "vacation distance," as it was called, was set to 100 KM, the script returned 106 hits revealing who was out-of-town in the test location of Berkeley, CA. After briefly perusing the results, the researchers came across a video from someone who was clearly on a Caribbean vacation and would have made an ideal victim.
